CARCASS merch at MAM

Merchandise of the death metal legends CARCASS is available here! A wide selection of shirts, longsleeves and of course records is waiting for you. Because on CD or especially vinyl you simply have to have this band!

The rise of a legend

In 1985 the career of CARCASS (the name was added in 1987) started under the banner Disattack. Initially a hardcore punk combo and later gravitating towards grindcore, the first steps of the band's history take place. "Reek of Putrefaction" is released in 1988 and finds a prominent listener: BBC presenter John Peel is taken with the band and gets them a lot of radio time. Already at this time there are the first live shows of the men from Liverpool, who follow up with "Symphonies Of Sickness" in 1989. Afterwards the band takes the first development steps away from grindcore. "Necroticism - Descanting the Insalubrious" (1991) shows a clear turn towards death metal, which reaches its climax in the absolute classic "Heartwork" (1993). The album makes it into the album charts in the UK and is still considered a milestone of the death metal scene.

The band is especially known for their splatter lyrics with reference to medicine. This theme is also reflected in the artwork and CARCASS merch.

Label disputes and breakup

As with almost all legends of the scene, CARCASS has had a breakup. The band switched to the major label Columbia before the release of their fifth album "Swansong". There, it seems that they are not necessarily attuned to the style of the troupe, because the record company rejects the material. Instead, the album was released on the label's former home Earache Records. But during this time there are also disagreements in the band, which finally breaks up in 1995.

2008: CARCASS return

Already between 2006 and 2007 there were more and more rumours that the Brits were considering a reunion. In 2008 it finally became reality and CARCASS re-formed and played at the Wacken Open Air for the first time since the break-up. However, it should still take some time until new songs are released. In 2013 "Surgical Steel" is released and conquers the charts worldwide and creates new demand for CARCASS merch. But even after that the band takes their time with new material. Only in 2021 the long-awaited "Torn Arteries" is released and proves to be one of the year's highlights, which comes in various limited editions and holds a wealth of surprises for fans and merchandise collectors.
